What are my first impressions about London. I would say they are very confused. We started our living with an apartment in the shopping center of London in Oxford circus. That is an intersection of streets with the majority of all kind of shops, crowds of people, theaters, restaurants and ctr. The apartment was not good as it was rather cold and the bathroom was very Britannic with taps separate for cold and hot water, that is awful. While being there i semmed for me that Moscow is the most calm city :-)
Today at last we changed this apartment for an other again temporary in Canary Wharf, 5 min from my work in ultra modern house. I have never lived in such a big and modern apartment, two bedrooms, leather furniture , new kitchen, very cool. But that is only for 3-4 weeks, and then we probably move closer to the London center , to St Johns Wood to a nice new apartment close to Regents Park, but which will be smaller than this one and much more expensive. So we are now already very unsure about our decision to live in such an expensive region. But we will see.
I do not yet feel London, I think it should take some more time.
In London office the atmosphere is different from it in my Moscow office, here you have no-one to kiss or to hug when you are coming early in the morning :-), much more people, more males than females :-), everyone prefers to talk through e-mail and not talking to each other. but that is the first impressions, maybe that's not objective.
So I really miss Moscow, my mum, my friends and my office.
In Paris it was much easier from the first day, as Paris is very clear and friendly, or I was younger, dunno
I ve been to Amsterdam for 2 days with my new colleagues, so now I know a little bit more people than three days ago, but still not really. There was retreat event, but I can say that our retreat was 10 times better. Here everyone prefers drinking as the major type of activity, I hate it. But again I will try to do the best to be more patient about it.
English language, its also kind of a problem, its difficult for me to understand the conversation between Brits.
Today we were in a bar watching football match Russia against Israel, unfortunately we lost, it was really not pleasant, Brits were extremely happy about it. I can understand it, we would also be very happy in this situation. but still its sad :-)
What else, I will post some pictures from Amsterdam.
Miss you all there
